Dr. Martin Jutzi is a senior researcher at the division of Space Research and Planetary Sciences of the University of Bern. His research includes studies of the collisional process between small bodies, their physical properties and their response to impacts. He has developed and validated a state-of-the-art Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic (SPH) shock physics code which is specially suited to study the regimes of collisions among small bodies where the complex effects of material strength, friction, porosity as well as gravity determine the outcome concurrently.
